Breastfeeding is the most natural and nutritious way to nurture a baby’s development. Expectant families with learn about maternal and infant nutritional needs, benefits of breastfeeding for mothers and babies, positions and latching techniques, how to tell if baby is getting enough, and dad’s importance to breastfeeding success. This one-time class also discusses equipment and techniques for pumping and storing breast milk, working and breastfeeding and how to get breastfeeding off to a great start. The class instructor is a national certified childbirth and breastfeeding educator. Husbands and/or support persons are encouraged to attend.

Topics include infant development, newborn appearance, hospital admission procedures, bathing, diapering, evaluating baby equipment and layette items, and car seat safety. This class is designed to teach emergency life support, proper techniques for choking, and warnings about safety for newborns and toddlers. A licensed CPR instructor offers this class on a Tuesday evening or Saturday morning.

This class is designed to teach you how to perform massage on your baby during those first important bonding months and years.

This four week, or one-day course, will prepare expectant parents for the birth of their baby. Topics include anatomy and physiology of pregnancy, stages of labor and birth, breathing, relaxation and massage techniques, pain management techniques, medication options, induction of labor, cesarean birth, and the post partum period. Parents will also receive a tour of the facility. The class instructor is a national certified childbirth and breastfeeding educator. Husbands and/or support persons are encouraged to attend. Wear comfortable clothing and bring two pillows.
